Testing, Testing...Is This Thing On?

Okay, so I need brutally objective feedback. The following struck me as funny. Really funny. But when I related it at the dinner table, I got pitying looks and rolling eyes for my pains. Here it is:

Yesterday I was playing string with TravisCat. He was really going at it. "Wow!" I told him. "You have amazing cat-like reflexes."
Am I the only one?

It's the sort of thing that is funnier when read than when spoken aloud. It's also the sort of thing that's funnier to notice yourself than to point out to someone. It's all in the presentation.

Yesterday in the middle of class I sneezed, while keeping my eyes open, right onto a friend. That's not very funny to read, but if you were there it was hysterical.

    I miss you. Call me!

  2. Hey, Mikey. I know, I know...I do owe you a chat. Things are nuts here with the first weeks of school. I promise; I'll buzz you soon. If you weren't such a snot about email...!

  3. I thought it was pretty funny and love the picture! : )

  4. V-grrrl,

Don't you roll those eyes at me, young lady! Who do you think you are?!!?!? (said in the voice of my mother...)

Thank you, kindred spirit or shameless flatterer; it doesn't really matter which. At this point, I just don't care.
And that picture is a pretty good representation of at least the *kind* of cat Travis is: your common everyday stripey guy. He would never, ever deign to smile, though. Far too cool for that.

Now I thought it was so much funnier when you told me that your son took Emily for a ride in the car because it was her birthday. To each his/her own cat humor, I suppose...

    How ARE you???

  6. LAURA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I miss you at The Rock, soulsistah!
I'm great. How are YOU? You need to email me, girl. We are all wondering how you're getting along at Hoity-Toity High over there. Throw us a scrap, wouldja? Nice to know you'll still come slummin' at The Dept. now and again.

Oh, thank you for joining the fray!
