PSA--No More Posts Via Email

image from LinkedIn

This is simply a quick PSA for those of you who had been getting my posts via email through Mailchimp. That service has ended. Well, it's ended for me, anyway; they're done offering it for free. Since I only have 200+ subscribers and I'm not really a b2b entity, they're breaking up with me.

I'm not aware of any other service that offers a freebie plan, so I guess you'll just have to stop by here and check in once in a while. I'm truly sorry for the inconvenience, especially since I don't publish on any sort of schedule.

Updated:  I was finally able to reformat my layout and remove the signup for email delivery as well as my defunct Feedburner subscription. Everything should be shipshape now. (Except for the part where you still can't get me via email anymore like before.)

I'll be back soon.

  1. Well doesn't that figure? I actually use Feedly to get notifications for your blog and other blogs, and it works quite well. I'm sorry, I'm no help with Blogger. I hope someone will have a good answer for you.

  2. Nance, I don't see a section on your blog for subscribers, but I used to use feedburner and I removed it! It has been awhile and I'm on my phone now but when I get to my computer I'll look to see what I did. I think it was in the header but again, I need to walk myself through it on the website to be able to advise. Stand by please...

    1. Kyria--I found the place the code was hiding! It was easy to remove, and now I'm all set. Thank you for the offer to help. I appreciate you.

    2. Oh good! I am so glad! I had a period of time in 2023 that I was struggling with that, so I get where you are coming from!

  3. I follow you using Feedly, a RSS service that can be free. I don't receive any blog posts from anyone via email. So I'll still be seeing you in the same old way.

  4. Nance, I did sign up for your mailchimp service--but I don't recall actually receiving any via email. I check in on my favorite bloggers via my blogroll. I keep meaning to try Feedly, which seems a smart solution.

    1. maya--Maybe I was sent to spam. In any case it all doesn't matter now, and I'm glad you're here regardless of the route you take.

  5. I was getting notifications for your posts in my email, but always with at least a 24-hour delay (and sometimes it would go to spam.) So... not shedding any tears over not getting Mailchimp reminders. No more monkey business for me, lol. In any case, I have you bookmarked in my "reading" folder on the toolbar of my main Chrome page and try to check frequently to see if there is a new post.

  6. I never did sign up - I just check the blog roll on the side of my blog. I remember the heady days of Google Ready. Sigh.

    1. Bug--And I remember the good old days of Feedburner. Google owns Blogger, too, so I live in fear of them dropping this platform someday. Thanks for being here.

  9. I’m another old school blogger that finds your posts via my blogroll. Sometimes it takes a little time, though. I’m glad that you told us, because I had gotten used to the emails coming, though sometimes they came pretty late.

    1. J--I'm not even going to worry about finding another email blast provider, I think. It's worky and I'm hearing that it wasn't punctual. I'm hoping that those who really care to read me will just check in here from time to time and do it on site. Thanks for the input.

  10. Weird. I just got your latest post yesterday June 8 through my email as always. But I’ll just continue to check your website I guess cause I don’t want to miss any of your posts. I really enjoy them.

    1. Mary--I know! I got it, too. I have no idea why. Mailchimp informed me that it was terminating my free account on June 1, but it looks like it hasn't gotten around to it yet.

Thanks for the encouragement. I look forward to reading you, too.
