We had a little bit of it mixing in with rain, but it didn't stay or really look like snow, so I didn't get too serious about it.

I hope Mr. G. settles down once he meets your Wall Of Indifference. LOL. Perhaps you can prevail and he can put the brakes on until 1 December.Nancehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17627214346956206283noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15179498.post-17973276428144296222014-11-08T20:35:37.907-05:002014-11-08T20:35:37.907-05:00Just because I get hit with the gratitude challeng...Just because I get hit with the gratitude challenge and started off with puffy clouds, I have to come here and read this.
My husband starts going hyper about Christmas as soon as we are by Hallowe'en. One more way of rendering November hideous. Plus, wE have 3 cm of wet snow.
Grumble, mumble, snort.MARY Ghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13178370815712313585noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15179498.post-14718089027969918482014-11-07T10:05:51.084-05:002014-11-07T10:05:51.084-05:00fauxprof--Forgive my tardy reply. She is not in the Honors College, so you are still incognito!Nancehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17627214346956206283noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15179498.post-12780516376868580562014-11-05T14:09:36.305-05:002014-11-05T14:09:36.305-05:00Zip on down any time. Will there be The Dreaded Drywall? Horrors.

Glad to have you On Board. And thank you for a topic. I may haul Jared in on this one because he so adores lists and opining.

My daughter Kait is in college in Akron right now, finishing her last year of undergrad. Why have we not Zipped down there and taken her out for a Swenson's burger, especially since we know of its fame and Rick is a burger maniac? No idea. (See what I did there? LOL.)

J@jj--Interesting. I never heard that theory about white shoes before. And I have no bias about Nouveau Riche vs. Old Money. I just want people to be nice about their money, period.

I'm assuming you'll celebrate another Thanksgiving as well as Hanukkah and Christmas? Such joy at the Jellyjules Manse!

The Bug--Can I steal the phrase "My Spiritual Gift"? How I love it! Or I'll pay for the use by helping you with your new poem.

AllyBean--Yay! Another pilgrim for the cause. Actually, the Christmas decorating will be decently put off at chez profs due to a master bath rehab in early December. I will probably find a spot for my little advent tree on the first, but that's all.

How about a food topic, of course? What traditional foods would you like to do away with? Mine are sweet potatoes in any format, but especially the ones done up with way too much syrup and mini marshmallows.

Here in Akron, the Swenson's drive in chain always closes on Thanksgiving. C'mon down for a cheeseburger the day after, or maybe a Galley Boy. (Indescribable, but delectable.)

fauxprofhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06517754643773601799noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15179498.post-57859536556882161482014-11-04T23:06:23.277-05:002014-11-04T23:06:23.277-05:00I'm all about November. Not that I love new money, but snobbery is stupid.

I fully support stores that are not open on Thanksgiving. I think that a more reasoned approach to November can bring a more relaxed and happy approach to December.

I remember fondly the Thanksgiving/Hannukah event last year, and the hand/turkeys put thumb to thumb to make a menorah. I even have to write a Thanksgiving poem! I wrote one in 2010 & apparently it has expired.
